Urban Air Pollution and Citizen Science: The Case of MI-TRAP

MI-TRAP at EGU 2026: MI-TRAP Session on Transport and Urban Air Quality

MI-TRAP contributes to the EGU General Assembly 2026 through Session AS3.32, Transport and urban air quality: Characterization and monitoring of real-world emissions, impacts on health, and mitigation strategies.

Convened by project Coordinator Konstantinos Eleftheriadis (NCSR-D) alongside co-conveners Soheil Zeraati Rezaei, Erika von Schneidemesser, and Christian George, the session explores transport-related air pollution, emerging emission sources such as non-exhaust emissions and microplastics, and their impacts on climate and public health.

Bringing together interdisciplinary contributions from across the atmospheric sciences, the session highlights the importance of real-world emissions research and evidence-based approaches to improving urban air quality and supporting more sustainable mobility systems.

Session details are available via the EGU 2026 programme page.
