We are pleased to share that the AMRN team presented their latest research at the 12th International Conference on Environmental Management, Engineering, Planning and Economics (CEMEPE 2025), held jointly with the SECOTOX Conference. Argyrios Balatsoukas presented “Analysing Citizens’ Perceptions and Behavioural Responses to Transport-Related Air Pollution through a Mixed-Methods Survey Approach”.
The presentation highlighted several key elements of the MI-TRAP approach:
- The role of MI-TRAP’s Social Innovation Solutions in strengthening citizen engagement across participating cities.
- Citizens’ perceptions of the impact of transport-related air pollution on cognitive and mental health, highlighting the importance of understanding subjective experiences in efforts to assess and mitigate urban air pollution.
- The methodology for an upcoming online survey, which will be a central tool in measuring the mental and cognitive health impacts of air pollution in urban contexts.
- The importance of co-creation processes in ensuring that data collected from citizens informs actionable, evidence-based policymaking.
This work contributes directly to the European Green Deal’s Zero Pollution Action Plan and aligns with the broader objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in promoting health, well-being, and sustainable urban development.
